Interested in becoming an Industrial Mechanic or Millwright? Join us for the Millwright Tour during Viking Fest, Saturday, November 15. Inside Del Mar College’s Millwright / Industrial Maintenance Mechanic program, you’ll get a front‑row look at what these skilled professionals do every day.

  • Explore hands‑on labs where students work on rotating equipment pumps, gearboxes, turbines, blowers, fans, and more. Del Mar’s Millwright (Industrial Maintenance Mechanic) program teaches troubleshooting of mechanical systems and preventive maintenance to keep industrial operations running smoothly.

  • See how students learn to install, maintain, and repair equipment; how they read mechanical blueprints; use measurement and balancing tools; work with industry standards.

  • Chat with faculty about employment paths: from local plant work, field/union positions (“road warrior”), or maintenance roles. Many opportunities exist in refineries, power plants, and manufacturing.
